Poached egg - vinegar or no vinegar?

Poaching eggs is my favourite way of cooking eggs and with our lovely chickens providing us with eggs regularly, eggs are always on the menu!

When I poach an egg I always add a splash of white wine vinegar to the boiling water. I swirl the water with the end of a wooden spoon handle and then gently put the egg in to poach. Very simple but delicious.

However Head Gardener never puts vinegar in the water and doesn’t like it! How do you poach an egg?

No vinegar for me! But the best advice someone gave me (😉) was not to have the water boiling just have it very very low! Works now every time x
